This version of eMedia Guitar Method is nicely enhanced from the previous version. I find it easy to use. I like that I can tune my guitar using the tuner. I have had fun using this program so far.
Delighted with my progress! March 1, 2010 Brian E. Ridge (Tampa, FL) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have been using the program for about six weeks and it has been the most significant reason why I am advancing quickly in my ability to play the guitar. I have also taken a few lessons with a teacher, bought another basic beginner book/DVD and found videos on the internet. Each of those, and practice, certainly has helped me get some basic skills, but this program has been the key for me.
The program jumps in pretty quickly and allows you to play along to songs within a few minutes. It starts with very basic chords and then keeps building on what you have learned and you progress. Being able to watch the computer screen and hear the music along as you play is great for getting skills in reading music and keeping a steady beat. It is easy to use and you can take anything at your own pace. I have gone back to the beginning numerous times and walked through all the songs as practice, and it is amazing how you were struggling with a song just a few days ago, and now you can knock it right out.
I would recommend it strongly. I don't think it is appropriate for young kids, but I expect anyone in their teens or older would fine this program very helpful.
THis is AWESOME... January 27, 2010 Jeffrey S. Gutkind (PA USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I bought emedia guitar primarily for my 6 year old son as I thought it would be a pretty good start for him to learn a hobby with me as I have never played guitar either. Slightly too advanced for him, so I ended up with a more basic package for him, however I ended up following the lesson plan through into the late hours of each night and I love it. The direction is awesome and I have learned many songs already. Not little kids songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb, but more like Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart songs. Highly recommended as a product for anyone that only has about 30 minutes a day to practice on your own time and not an instructor that you need an appointment with. I am currently working on the song LaBamba. Not quite as easy as Knockin on Heavens door, but I will get it.
Well thought out guitar curriculm December 7, 2009 Pete Sanders 30 out of 30 found this review helpful
I'm a guitar instructor who teaches a once a week high school guitar class. I've started recommending Emedia to my students as a great at home guitar program. As an instructor, I really like the step by step approach to the lessons. The video are very helpful in demonstrating techniques between lessons. Kids that are using the program progress a lot faster than those that don't. This is a fine program either for those that want to learn on their own or that are also taking lessons.
Good guitar teaching system November 7, 2009 Jimmy 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
I got a guitar and this program for my birthday and am progressing in my guitar playing really well. The lessons are very well laid out and progress in a very logical way. It includes videos of both hands demonstrating techniques. Techniques are then incorporated into popular songs. These same techniques translate into other songs. I got a few song books to go along with Guitar Method. I'm getting into some of the harder songs now and I really like how you can slow down a song while practicing it. This is a good product for someone who likes going at their own pace, and mine seems to be fast.
