| Customer Reviews: Really loving this game! June 5, 2010 Amylyn Reynolds (Utah, USA) I got this for my 8 year old son to use during the summer before 3rd grade. I figured it might be a little hard but was hoping that with the different levels it would be challenging but not too frustrating for him. It's been great. I admit, it doesn't have the cool graphics or interactive interface that the jumpstart worlds have, but my son loves it and it's been really great practice in all areas. I had to help him learn some of the math concepts (how to simplify fractions, rules for rounding large numbers, etc.) but now he's doing it all on his own. The geography section is pretty hard too, and it would be awesome if there was something they could click on for a hint, but with a little patience he's been learning lots of cool facts and is learning great geography. Overall, definitely a great value (although as I'm writing this my son just said he thinks he beat the game, and we've only had it a week . . . =-)
"Sucks!" is too kind March 31, 2010 written on sand (Dayton Ohio USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
There needs to be a "no star" rating. There is no way to move back and forth between levels if your kid cannot finish them. If you cannot finish the Mah Jong level - not because of math skills but because the tiles don't line up - you have no choice but to do it over again. You cannot progress otherwise.
Both my wife and I are very computer savvy - I design databases for fun - and this software is beyond salvage. The authors should be forbidden to write software. The positive reviews were written by company stooges who never used the product. We want our $15 back plus the hours of our lives we wasted on this sadistic product.
very educational January 10, 2010 Tim Gentry (Arkansas) Jump start has many great learning game software. I also get my kids reader rabbit games. My kids enjoy both. Jumpstart is challenging and fun. My daughter asks if she can play it and as a parent it is always ok to get educated. I recommend this to parents who have a pc and allow their kids to use it for educational purposes.
We love the Jumpstart Series October 7, 2009 Early Childhood Specialist and Homeschooling Mom (Seattle Wa) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We are a homeschooling family. The Jump start series has been wonderful. My three children are all working above grade level and love to learn. I just purchased the Jump start 4th and 5th grade and I am happy to say that finally something is challenging my kids.
